Location Location Location

6 July 2017

It's often asked how to get a great photograph. It's all in the planning! My blog will take you on the journey until the images are finally made. First the idea. Granted ideas come easy to some, for others they germinate, for me they, well seem to pop into my head. Anyway for this one I think I was scanning music, saw an old 80's song and knew that was what I wanted to do. Two actions emanated immediately, the first pm a few models and see if they were interested in the idea. Two- yes's! Next google attire and images to get some form of what to create, well still looking, sometimes your personal taste gets in the way. Will work on that. Then it's a location. This is usually the hardest aspect. Fortunately on occasions I do street photography which allows me the ability to walk and see. I had found an old building which would suit, now just to find out who owns it and contact them. In this case fate blessed me. The owner of this building I knew, quick telephone call and yes come and see. I did a walk around two days ago, fabulous location, (Five possible setups) agreement about the time-frame, what I need to bring, lights, personnel etc. Cost nil: the owner is keen to be part of the shoot, and will benefit with a permanent image. (Bit like the poker print with James Dean and other celebs) A great conversation piece. Step one down. Next is theater lights, to give a real essence of disco 80's. The hunt is on. Stay tuned for more as the story unfolds. I expect to be on location at the end of the month.

That's one, but there is also another happening too - but that's food for another blog.
